Oh Carpinteria! (Part 2)

We had a rough night on Monday night. Cody woke up at about two o'clock with a really high fever. He was a little delirious. We were a little worried and I did not remember to pack tylenol. We got him to drink some fluids and Kevin slept with him. If Cody got any hotter we were going to go and get tylenol, but the only problem was that we would have to drive to Santa Barbara so we waited. He seemed to stay the same so we just let him sleep. In the morning Eva and I walked to the store and got some tylenol. He seemed to be doing better. We kind of came to the conclusion that it may have been dehydration and heat exhaustion. He played so hard on Monday and didn't drink enough. He doesn't like to stop. But he ended up being ok by the end of the day on Tuesday. Tuesday however was Ty's third birthday. So Auntie Amanda and Uncle Ryan had planned his party up there. We missed part of it but it was full of water fun...water balloons, water squirters (like at Wes's party) and a little pool. Ty also had a fun Lightning McQueen pinata. Happy birthday Ty we are so glad that we got to spend it with you. Cody took it easy for the rest of the day. That night we went to Pizza with all the family for Ty's birthday!
Eva practicing sitting up and playing with cousin Logan.

Happy 3rd birthday Tyler! We love you!

Poor Cody didn't have much strength but he tried.

Where the yummy ice cream sundaes were.

Cody and Emma blowing their kazoos.

Spending a little time on the hard ground playing.

I'm gonna get you Logan!

They weren't really playing but they didn't know the difference.

Who's crying kids are ruining this picture of
Tyler and his cousins...oh right those are ours.

And we ended this night as we did most nights
with all the boys in the street playing cars.

Wednesday morning we woke up to fog. It was over cast most of the day. It was not great beach weather but Kevin and Cody went down for a while. While the kids were napping we had our annual tea party. It was Eva's first! She loved every moment of it as you can see from the pictures. The boys also had a great time playing with Ty's new birthday present, a basketball hoop. Later that night we met Kevin, Amber, and Mick at Padero Grill for dinner. It has kind of become a tradition to meet them there once during the week. It was pretty cold but we had a great time. I hate to say it but I would be totally ok with Eva marrying Mick. He is adorable and I love his parents. Is it still ok to arrange marriages?

The beautiful tea party set up.

Eva and her soon to be bestie with me and
my bestie since we were 15 months old.

See so excited about the tea party!

Shootin hoops with the boys!

Noah, Luke, Cody and Ty....aren't they adorable?!

They are the best of friends and the worst of enemies.
They love each other so much.

Eva was having fun posing for the camera.

Kevin and Kevin and the kids. We are so blessed to
have remained friends all these years.

Eva was being a little aggressive. Mick didn't know
what to think of her.

So sweet he wanted to hold her hand.

Oh Carpinteria!

We took out annual trip to Carpinteria. My family has been camping there since I was eight years old. It is so fun to now take my kids for the week. It is a place filled with so many memories and I am so glad that my kids can now make their own.

What a fun filled week we had in Carpinteria! Cody (Mayor of Carpinteria/Camp Ground Host) had the time of his life. What kid wouldn't have fun with the beach right there, all your friends and cousins within walking distance, and both sets of grandparents.... I think Cody could have stayed there forever.

I think I will do a few posts since I have so many pictures. We were there for 5 nights and 6 days.

We rented a trailer this year, it was huge. It turned out to be a perfect size for all of our stuff and our precious children. The day we arrived, Sunday was kind of a blur. We spent most of the day unpack and setting everything up. We had dinner that night with the Meachams (who were right next to us for one night, which was really fun). We smoked some chicken and made rice with finne and salad. It was delicious. Mike also made some homemade ice cream which he shared with everyone. Yummy!
Monday was beautiful. We spent most of the day on the beach playing in the sand and the water. These are pictures from Sunday and Monday.

So excited to begin our drive up to Carpinteria.

Auntie Denise was nice enough to make Cody a PB&J
sandwich since we were setting up.

Watching their first toon in the trailer.

Eva and Mimi...not quite sure of the beach yet.

Surfing, as Cody calls it, with a little help from Daddy.

Loading the water squirters for a war.

Squirting each other and having fun.

Then they ganged up on Logan with a little help from Kevin.

Emma asked her mom if they could keep Eva.

Trying out Slayder's cool bike.

Bike derby...The kids all joined in and just rode their
bike back and forth for at least 20 minutes. I guess all
the cars got the memo because none came by.

Luke did a great job on his bike.

Slayder trying to scoot on his new peddle bike.

Wes on his tricycle.

Cody was just loving all the action. Lots of noise!

Eva was loving watching all the kids going crazy.

Loves her daddy!

Cody and Grampy

Roasting his first marshmellow, yummy!

Ty roasting with Uncle Todd.

Poppy working on the perfect marshmellow.

Yummy!

Splish, Splash

Today we had a fun day with our cousins at the Ladera Ranch water park. That place is so great. Cody was especially excited to spend the day with some of his favorite people. He adores all of his cousins. The weather was not very good, but that didn't stop the kids from playing in the water and having lots of fun. We played, ate lunch, played some more and then walked back to Uncle Todd and Auntie Mindy's house. We had a wonderful time. Thanks Auntie Mindy for inviting us! We hope to maybe make it back one more time before summer is over.

Walking to the water park with Ashy.

The boys hanging out in the water.

Such a cool picture!

That sure does taste good...

Eva had her first taste of food today and she loved it. I was a little surprised because Cody did not like cereal at all, but Eva loved it. I was laughing at her because she looks like a baby calf about to suck on her mom's teats. She has been eyeing our food for a while but I didn't want to start her too soon. I think she is going to be so happy now.

She liked the bib almost as much as the food.

Come on momma faster...

This is a short video of her first bite. I wish I could remove my voice
but who really likes their own voice, right.
